Product Description
What does the 5 Series Driveshaft do
The driveshaft is also known as Cardan Shaft or Prop Shaft. It is a hollow tube of steel or aluminium. Its job is to transmit torque from the engine to wheels. The driveshaft extends from the transmission to your car's rear axle where it will deliver power to control the car.
Constant Velocity or CV drive shafts is the name for the unique drive shaft type that allows continual rotational velocity through an angle without a large increase in friction or play.
A broken driveshaft will prevent the front wheels from turning properly and controlling the car. This issue should be fixed as soon as possible for you and your passengers safety.
Vibrations coming from the bottom of the car are an indicator that there is an issue with your cars drive shaft. Shuddering when accelerating is also a known issue.
The cars driveshafts are a very important part of the drive train, all of these issues impact the ability to control the car correctly.
Driveshafts are finely balanced before you fit them to ensure they do not vibrate. Any sort of vibration indicates an issue.
