How does Audi A4 Windscreen Wiper Motor work
Are your wipers slower than usual or can you hear a whirring sound to be coming from the wiper motor?
Snow, Rain, Dust and much more hits your windscreen daily and can block view ability. This is where your wipers and wiper motor comes into play. Without the wiper motor being operational the blades are useless. Driving without functional wipers is against the law.
The electrical motor is connected to the cars power supply to operate the wiper system. To move the wiper arm across the window screen a worm gear is commonly used.
In order for the wiper blades to move in a smooth action the wiper motor rotates in a continuous clockwise movement. Each windscreen wiper needs its own motor.
Wind screen wipers operate in a parallel movement in most modern cars. There are some manufacturers that have designed theirs to move in opposite directions.
The wiper motor is mounted to the header panel located above the window screen in your car.
