Product Description
Replace your broken or damaged VW Caddy EGR Valve.
EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation
When your car's combustion temperature rises above 2500 degrees, the EGR valve opens and a vacuum pulls through the exhaust. The EGR will allow a certain amount of exhaust to return and be mixed up with the incoming fuel into the cylinders at a steady speed.
This process makes the engine more efficient. The EGR solenoid controls the vacuum process and if it develops a fault then problems will develop.
This helps to cool the cylinders, allowing for a higher degree of ignition advance to burn more of the fuel. This makes the engine more efficient. If the EGR is not used, the ignition timing would have to be retarded somewhat so that detonation would not occur.
While some EGR valve issues could actually be due to the wiring a lot of issue occur because the valve gets stuck open or closed this is due to a buildup of carbon deposits and a dark tar-like substance.
